In this interactive workshop, participants will discover innovative strategies to transform employee engagement from mundane to motivational by creating a dynamic culture of shared responsibility and continuous learning. Through guided group activities and real-world case studies from KJT Group, attendees will collaboratively design engagement frameworks that seamlessly integrate financial literacy, ESOP education, and enjoyable experiences, empowering them to return to their organizations with actionable strategies that drive employee ownership and enthusiasm.
The session will begin with a brief introduction to underscore the importance of balancing engagement, education, and fun in fostering a culture of shared responsibilities.
Darren and Dave will then share their experiences at KJT, highlighting the strategies we’ve implemented over the past two years to drive employee engagement, learning, and an ownership mentality. We will discuss our financial literacy training, which focuses on the three main financial statements through the concept of “The Journey of a Dollar.” Additionally, we will talk about our summer picnics that bring together remote and in-office employee-owners for collaboration and socialization, helping us work toward our collective goals. We will highlight our ESOP education and training programs, which are offered year-round to educate all employee-owners, regardless of their seniority or tenure, as we believe informed employee-owners are crucial to our success. We will explain our weekly huddles, where we review income statement forecasts and key performance metrics as a company, keeping everyone informed and involved in shaping positive change. Lastly, we will share our ESOP Month activities, which are highly anticipated by employees, as they help balance Q4 demands while celebrating our ESOP and collective achievements.
We’ll next break into small groups to discuss current engagement practices and the challenges participants face in balancing different types of events and communications. Each group will share their insights and identify common themes and strategies that emerge from their discussions. In this hands-on activity participants will work together to design a balanced engagement plan that incorporates fun, educational events, and shared responsibility initiatives. Groups will develop a detailed plan that includes regular ESOP communications and financial literacy sessions, integrated into engaging formats like interactive workshops, games, or themed events.
Each group will present their engagement plan to the larger group, sharing insights and identifying common themes and strategies.
We’ll end by summarizing the key insights from the group presentations. We will then open the floor for Q&A. Finally, there will be an opportunity for peer feedback, allowing attendees to provide their thoughts on the session.
