Ready, Set, Own: The Amazing Race for New ESOPs

Using The Amazing Race as a theme, we will discuss how new ESOPs are only at the start of the fantastic journey of employee ownership. Each location will have a challenge. For example, the Switzerland challenge will be making the first loan payment, where we will discuss obtaining a TIN, bank account, round robin to/from trustee, timing, and additional payments.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the steps involved in making your first loan payment.
  2. Understand the year-end allocation and statement process.
  3. Understand why the plan is being submitted to the Internal Revenue Service.
